Another Halloween has come and gone.  One of the realities of living in an apartment/condo complex is that on Halloween you don't get any kids coming to your door.

Since I've been living in various apartments, I haven't seen any dressed up kids knocking on my door.  But each year, we prepare for it nonetheless.  This year we stopped at Costco and got a box of full sized chocolate bars for all the kids we were hoping to see Halloween night.   Not a single kid showed up.

Now what are we going to do with all that chocolate...  J

I read a news article that some public school in Toronto banned the kids from wearing Halloween costumes to school, because "some parents complained about Halloween's pagan origins".  I feel sorry for those kids.  Especially the kids of the parents in question.  I would not have wanted to grow up in such a sheltered, suppressive environment.
