March 4th, Bonnie was watching tv when she saw this on the bottom corner of the screen:

She thought - "I wonder if there is a contest?", so she wrote down the time and show.

Congratulations to Dave Littley of Kelowna. Dave is the winner of CHBC's Barenaked Ladies contest. He won a pair of tickets to the BNL concert at Prospera Place on March 31st. Dave also won the entire BNL c-d library.

Wow, what a great concert!

But first, we got to go to their sound check.  There was us, a couple of winner of a Daily Courier contest and a bunch of Sun FM winners.  Tyler, Kevin and Jim were already there and Ed and Steve came out soon after.  They practiced a few songs and discussed amongst themselves plans for the upcoming show.

Once they were done practicing, them came down and said hi to all of us.  We got to shake their hands, get autographs, chat a bit, and then got our pictures taken with them.  It was very cool.  I had forgotten to bring anything to autograph, but fortunately we had a copy of Stunt in the car, so we got them to sign the CD.

The concert was their usual excellence.  They put on one of the best live shows I've ever seen.  Highlights for me were Jim's amazing solo on the base, and their rendition of the Road Runner song (with Tyler supplying the 'Beep Beep's).

On another note, this was our first post-baby outing.  We got some friends of ours to baby-sit for us (in exchange for us babysitting their baby at a future date).  It was kind of weird, and we were definitely feeling some separation anxiety as the evening went on.  But we got home, and Corbin was asleep.  There was an hour or so of unhappiness we were told, but he (and we) survived.
